REMI

REMI AB#19-174 – F, 7 Years

Name: Remi

AB#: 19-174

Gender: Female

Age: 7

Size/Weight: 48 lbs.

Color: Liver and White

Breed: English Setter

Socialization/training: Remi is a very active 7 year old girl. She sits very well and comes when she doesn't have anything else going on. We have been working on this and she is improving. She pulls on the leash and harness. When you enter the room, she immediately falls to the ground for a good belly rub. So cute.

Good with Children: Remi’s Foster 2 legged sisters are 12 years old and she loves to play and cuddle with them. Not a good fit for small children. She would not hurt anyone, but she is just strong and busy.

Good with Dogs: I think she would be best as an only dog. She is bossy with her 4 legged foster brother. The home she came from prior to coming into our foster home split her and her sister because Remi is very dominant. Her mom felt that she would do best as an only dog.

Good with Cats: Not sure

House trained: Yes

Crate trained: We have not created her at all. Remi’s mom said she was crated for grooming and did fine. We had no need to crate her because she is very good in the house.

Leash trained: She definitely can pull. We have been working on this with little success. We have been walking her on a harness also with the same result.

Activity Level: Playful ,active & loves to be outside in our fenced yard and the woods.

Fence: A physical fence of 4 to 5 feet is a must as she loves to run around outside.

Behavior: She loves being outside and running around. Inside, she loves to go belly up for belly rubs, and cuddles well with everyone.

Medical History: UTD with shots, spayed. She tested positive for Lyme disease when she came into rescue so she just finished 30 days on antibiotics and is healthy. She has a small cyst on her
back leg that we had biopsied and it will not be a problem.

Foster Comments: Remi is a sweet loving girl. She came into foster care from a stable loving home that could no longer provide her with a safe environment. When she arrived at our home it took her very little time to adjust to our busy family schedule. From car rides to boat rides she is happy to be included in all our outings. She is at home with her foster brother during the day for up to 5 hours and does well. We have a busy house with many people from the ages ranging from 8 year olds to adult male and females coming and going all the time and she just goes belly up for everyone. Remi does bark when people come to the door but settles down quickly. Remi does not seem to be nervous about anything. We did not expose her to a cat so cannot comment on that. Remi is a well-adjusted ball of energy and is always up for playing. Her mom said she was stubborn as a puppy and she still is. She is also food motivated and has a knack for agility. She should never be in a home where she can’t run around in an open space. Her desire to please is great and with patience and understanding she will touch your heart. We will miss her sweet and funny personality when she leaves us for her forever home.
