Activity Level:  Patch was a registered field stud originally from a breeder so his official name is Summit’s Dirty Little Hobo.  He is a calm boy that likes to snuggle, hike, & play with the other dogs. He likes toys & bones and will entertain himself. He enjoys his daily hikes and he sees them as adventures to find birds, critters, & sniff all the outside smells.

Fence:  Patch prefers to be inside with his human but will occasionally go out and run around the yard or wrestle with his foster dog brother.  He is lower energy so could be leash walk only.

Behavior:  Patch is a happy friendly boy who is a good combination of outgoing and curious but very sweet, gentle, and well mannered.  He likes baths, brushing, & will allow his nails to be trimmed.  He rides great in vehicles too.

Medical History:  Healthy, UTD on vaccinations, neutered, on HWP preventative and has a microchip

Foster Comments:  Patch is sweet gentle boy who enjoys enough human attention.  He has good manners and doesn’t jump on people or other dogs although he does occasionally think he’s a lap dog.  He is in the house with 5 other dogs.  He loves to go on walks hunting for birds and doesn’t pull hard but is still learning to heel.  He is a thin boy with hair as soft as silk although it took 2 baths to get him smelling good when he arrived.  I work from home and he will climb on my lap for a few minutes each morning but then get down to go to take a nap.  He is submissive to the other dogs & has gradually made friends although he was a bit afraid of the xlarge dogs originally.  He would be fine with kids since he’s very gentle or another dog to play with to keep him well socialized.  He met a few tiny dogs at the vet & was very curious, so I don’t think he was sure if they were squirrels or dogs.  I was told he was a trained hunting dog but he doesn’t seem to be overly interested in birds on our walks, he just likes being out on the walk.  His best doggy buddy is a 9 month old Black Mouth Cur mix male I’m fostering & they wrestle, share toys, & bones but never fight or show any aggression with each other or the other 4 dogs in the house.
