MOLLY (PA) ABIN#19-162-6 -M, 2 Years

NAME: Molly IN#19-062-6 Female/Spayed
AGE: Estimated age is 2
33 pounds

Tri-Color English Setter
She has not had any formal obedience training but will sit for treats. She is great with children.
Loves playing and being with other dogs.
She has not been tested around cats.
She is housetrained.
Doing well with crate training. Will go right in following a treat.
She will pull when walked on a leash. Would do better with a harness.

She is very playful and loves being outside in the yard and going for walks. She will chase butterflies, play tug with toys and sticks with other dogs. She is very calm when she comes in the house and will lay down and fall asleep.

She does need a fence because she loves to run in the yard and be outside. It helps her to be better in the house.

You can pick her up, place her on your lap and she will fall asleep or put her head on your shoulder and just relax. She loves being with her people and the other dogs.

Molly came to the US in May from Greece. She is very healthy, current on vaccines, spayed and a happy girl. Molly originates from Greece where Leishmaniasis is endemic. She tested negative before coming to the USA, but the parasite can remain dormant in the system for many years, so potential adopters must be willing to commit to annual testing for the next 7 years. Typically, the test needs to be sent to a special lab, but any regular vet can draw the blood and send it to the lab. The cost of the test seems to vary widely by area, but is approximately $150.

She let’s me brush her teeth and brush her. She is easy to bathe and clip her nails. Her previous home thought she had separation anxiety and had to give her up. I found that she needed a fenced yard and another dog to be with and she is now weaned off the meds and is doing fine! She can be left in the house when I go out and behaves. She does check out the counters but with a quick squirt from a water bottle, she gets right down. There has been no growling or aggression of any kind. She is a very sweet, pretty girl and a joy to have around!

Volunteer transport can be arranged in the Continental US within a 1,000 mile distance between adopters & foster home. Typically, we are able to transport your adopted dog to within 2 hours of your home. *Dogs can be adopted outside the 1000 mile transport distance; however, adopters must be willing to either fly their adopted dog, drive to a location within the 1000 mile transport range, or make independent transport arrangements for their adopted dog. Transports to far West states, from Eastern states, may have additional restrictions.
