HONEY AB#18-142 – F, 1 Year

HONEY  AB# 18-142 – F, 1 Year

Foster dog name:  Honey  AB# 18-142
Gender:  Female
Age:  1 year  (DOB 10-16-2017)
Size/Weight:  42.5 lbs/
Color:  orange and white
Breed:  setter/hound mix

Socialization/training:  Honey is in a second puppy hood now that her puppies have been weaned. She loves people of all sizes. She wants to sit in your lap and be petted, she will mouth your hand sometimes but responds to correction. She is a good learner and is working on "sit" and "paw".  She is eager to please and treat-motivated.

Good with Children:  She loves everyone!  A stranger is a friend she has not met yet.

Good with Dogs:  She likes other dogs but she likes people better.  On walks, she looks for her doggie friends.

Good with Cats:  She loves our cat, more than he likes her.  She is trying to figure out what he is and wants to play with him.
She will watch him and study him when he is around.  He is not afraid of her so with some training, she will be good with cats.

House trained:  yes

Crate-trained:  yes

Leash-trained:  yes, Honey walks nicely with a leash and harness but will pull if she spots  something interesting.

Activity level:  active. Honey loves to go for walks and playing with her tennis ball.

Fence:  Honey must have a yard with a physical fence.  She will put her head through so the fence should not have openings that allow her to do that. She has a high curiosity level and will go after a scent.  She gets absorbed in what she is after
so she must be physically contained.  This extreme curiosity does not extend to our cat or our chickens after she was used to them.

Behavior:  Honey is sweet and lovable.  She loves to be near everyone. She will cuddle especially once she is tired out and ready to snuggle after a walk or paying with her tennis ball.

Medical History:  Honey is up to date with her vaccines. She has been spayed. She is on heart worm preventative and flea/tick preventative as well.

Foster comments:  Honey is ...well...sweet as honey!  She is friendly, loving, and smart.  She likes to figure  things out.  We think that is why she watches  the cat so much.  She loves to meet new people. When she goes for a walk, she looks for friends to greet. She is enjoying puppy hood again after raising her puppies but will soon settle down to be a young dog- full of energy, curiosity, and joy.   If your life needs a little sweetness, Honey could be the dog for you!
