Foster Comments:

Llew is making some strides in controlling his prey-driven impulses, but he’s still very focused on squirrels, birds, etc. For that reason, a physical fence is essential for him.

He has been friendly with dogs we have met on walks, but there was one incident where he was aggressive with another dog. He needs a home where there are no other dogs.

On the positive side, Llew is a lovely dog and a sweet, playful, and affectionate companion in the home. He loves to play with his toys, and it’s a pleasure to see him having a good time.

We have been working on training with the clicker/reward system, and we have made real progress -- he follows multiple commands (sit, heel-sit, over (walk on the left), wait, touch nose to palm, and he is much better -- though by no means perfect -- at walking to heel.

He’s good with the crate, and happily goes into it to rest or sleep. When we first got him, he barked in the early morning, but with the help of an electronic sound-beeper, he’s stopped that. It only took a couple of nights, and a few beeps, and he learned the joys of sleeping in! He’s quick to learn, and very trainable.
