She knows sit, is much better waiting her turn for treats, comes when called and rides nicely in the car. Because of her past, Gina is crated whenever she has to stay home and her foster parents are gone. She might be fine, but could be a danger to herself as she learns to live in a home.

Behavior: Gina is curious about everything! She is very sweet, adorable and athletic. When going out the back door, she leaps out onto the patio rather than going down the step. Gina can jump 4’ or more from standing. She loves to be held and carried, laying very close to you when sitting in the evening and snuggling. Gina shows very little fear of things so needs monitoring closely if in an unsafe environment.

Medical History: Up to date on vaccines, Spayed, Heartworm Negative and on preventative. Gina had one small litter with her kennel mate in Greece, her babies did not survive. Gina originates from Greece where Leishmaniasis is endemic. She was tested before coming to the USA and her test was clear, but the parasite can remain dormant in the system for many years, so potential adopters must be willing to commit to annual testing for the next 7 years.  Typically, the test needs to be sent to a special lab, but any regular vet can draw the blood and send it to the lab.  The test typically costs $120-150.

Foster Comments: Gina’s nickname is Tiny Dancer. She stands on her back legs and spins, reaches for you to pick her up or to greet you excitedly.  Most of the day, Gina is running to get to where she is going. Her prey drive is very high and she does not show any fear of gun shots near her. With patience and gentle training, Gina could be an awesome huntress. She is very small and petite with beautiful markings. Gina looks to us for direction and guidance, but has begun to separate and can amuse herself appropriately. As Gina has learned English, her ability to comply with requests has improved.
