Size/Weight: 40lbs and growing

Color: very cute liver and white setter ticking

Breed: english setter

Good with Children: no children in foster but Oliver likes everyone he meets in the park and would go home with anyone who asked.

Good with Dogs: yes

Good with Cats: unknown, have not seen him with cats

House trained: 50/50, doesn’t go in house or crate, but I let him outside often

Crate trained: yes, but will not settle if he knows you are around and have locked him up

Leash trained: he is trained in that he knows that when the leash comes out he is going for a walk, but he is not trained to heel and he does pull

Behavior: Loves to be with people – in your lap, on your feet, at your side. Loves to play and run and wrestle with other dogs.

Activity Level:  High energy puppy! Loves to play and run and wrestle with other dogs.

Fence:  Fence required, leash walks won’t satisfy this puppy.

Medical History: UTD on shots; neutered; cherry eye surgery on 10/26/18; kennel cough when arrived at foster, began treatment on 10/01/18 and clear now.

Foster Comments: Newman arrived skinny, frightened and basically lifeless. After high quality, high calorie dog food three times a day, treatment for kennel cough, a safe quiet home with a soft bed to call his own, he became Oliver, as in, please sir, I want some more, more food, more love, more play, more life. He has been running ever since and would love a family to run and play with and snuggle with and to love and be loved. 

Oliver is not obedience trained but loves to please so I know understanding a few requests such as sit, down, off … , are in his future.

Volunteer transport can be arranged in the Continental US within a 1,000 mile distance between adopters & foster home. Typically, we are able to transport your adopted dog to within 2 hours of your home. *Dogs can be adopted outside the 1000 mile transport distance; however, adopters must be willing to either fly their adopted dog, drive to a location within the 1000 mile transport range, or make independent transport arrangements for their adopted dog.
