Transport

Rescue Transport is a vital part of our mission at Above & Beyond English Setter Rescue (A&BESR). Often, the rescue setters are located hundreds or even thousands of miles away from their foster homes or forever families. This is where our incredible network of volunteers steps in. In 2024, our dedicated volunteers collectively drove nearly 95,000 miles to help save these dogs in need.

Our Transport Coordinators (TCs) plan the route and break it into shorter segments. Volunteers then drive the setters from one town to the next, like a relay race, until they reach their destination. Each transport journey is documented in a Transport Album on our Facebook page, showcasing pictures, stories, and anecdotes.

This amazing group of volunteers needs your help. Please complete the Transport Volunteer Driver Application to start receiving notices of transports in your area. Follow our main Facebook page, Heidi Kozubal Transports, and join your state-specific Transport page/group on Facebook so you don’t miss an opportunity.

1. Tagging Help: Use Facebook and basic software skills to tag drivers for transport posts.
2. Monitoring Transports: Keep everyone updated on transport status and dog information via group email and messenger.
3. Coordinating an Entire Transport: Draft runs, solicit drivers, prepare run sheets, and ensure smooth hand-offs.
