TSARLI

TSARLI ABIN#18-143-6 – M, 1 1/2 Years

Foster dog name: Tsarli

Gender: Male

Age: 18 months

Size/Weight: 38 pounds

Color: White and Black

Breed: English Setter

Socialization/training: Tsarli knows sit, is gentle with treats, waits his turn and is the most laid back, gentle setter. He loves doing anything with people.  Tsarli is a hugger but one quick hug and he sits by you for affection. Paws can be put on the counter to inspect what is going on but gets right down with the command “paws down.” All grooming is tolerated nicely, and he especially likes being brushed. Very good play skills with the other dogs.

Good with Children: yes

Good with Dogs: yes

Good with Cats: Not tested but shows no interest in the barn cats

House trained: yes

Crate trained: yes

Leash trained: excellent on a leash

Activity Level: Moderately active. Plays with toys and fetches a balll

Fence: Physical fence would be preferred

Behavior: Tsarli is a very gentle, sweet and quiet setter. He does like to play with toys and take them out the dog door into the yard. Chewing on frozen toys seems to be a favorite activity. Tsarli sleeps in our room and sometimes with us. Crating has not been needed as he has never gotten into things he should not, nor chewed on things he shouldn’t.

Medical History: Up to date on vaccines, Neutered, Heartworm Negative and on prevention, no significant medical history. Tsarli originates from Greece where Leishmaniasis is endemic. He was tested before coming to the USA and her test was clear, but the parasite can remain dormant in the system for many years, so potential adopters must be willing to commit to annual testing for the next 7 years.  Typically, the test needs to be sent to a special lab, but any regular vet can draw the blood and send it to the lab.  The test typically costs $120-150.

Foster Comments: If you are looking for the perfect companion, Tsarli just may be the one. He is absolutely one of our very favorite fosters and is a special dog with a gentle spirit. Prey drive is present, but he is gun shy so not a good candidate for a hunting companion. Thunder does not appear to bother him.

Adoption Fee: $300.00
