SOPHIE

SOPHIE AB#19-285– F, 4Years

Foster dog name: Sophie

Gender: Female

Age: Unknown, but 3 vets estimate at 3-4

Size/Weight: 48 lbs

Color: tan

Breed: Setterdoodle (Setter/Poodle)

Good with Children: yes

Good with Dogs: yes

Good with Cats: yes

House trained: yes

Crate trained: yes

Leash trained: no, but not bad on a leash

Activity Level: Very very playful. Not hyperactive, but she loves to play and will get bored easily without plenty of play and exercise. Not a couch potato.

Fence: A fenced-in yard is highly recommended. Sophie loves to chase balls and play with toys and will need a regular outlet for play.

Medical History: No current health concerns, though she apparently had a spinal injury in her past that affects her back legs somewhat. The vet’s opinion is it won’t get worse. She is completely unbothered by this, and runs and jumps freely, except she tends to bunny-hop with her back legs when she runs. It actually just makes this fun-loving dog even cuter. But a forever home without a lot of stairs would be best to make things easier on her. Sophie is Spayed, UTD on Vaccinations, microchipped, and on HWP

Foster Comments:  Silly Sophie is the kind of dog that just makes your life better from the moment she arrives. There is no adjustment period for her, this self-assured, social dog accepts life as it comes and makes the best of everything. She loves other dogs, cats, and kids.

This former hunt-club dog moved to life as an inside dog with barely a misstep. She is just naturally an easy girl. She is friendly without being overwhelming. She doesn’t jump on people, doesn’t bark or counter-surf. The list of bad habits she doesn’t have is endless.

She is curious, smart and interested in everything. She loves, loves, loves toys. She fits instantly and easily into your home and will make you laugh every day. While her activity level is reasonable for a young dog, her friendly, inquisitive and social nature requires plenty of stimulation, so she’ll do best in an active household with plenty of outings.
