SAMANTHA

SAMANTHA AB#19-269- F, 5 1/2 Months

Name: Samantha
Gender: Female (spay date 12/27)
Age: 5 1/2 mos.
Size/wt: Currently 20-25 lbs prob 45 when full grown
Color: orange/white
Breed: English Setter
Good with children: absolutely
Good with other dogs: yes!
Good with cats: yes-foster home has one and she is curious and barks but foster mom keeps her away because cat would swat her and probably  scratch her nose
House trained: just about perfect; she has had a few pee accidents right by the door going outside when she goes out first time and her bladder is full and she’s excited; this will go away once she’s been in foster home a little longer (has only been here a wk) and gets a little older; otherwise no accidents at all in house or crate AND when it rained all day and all evening she went out in the pouring rain to use the bathroom!!!
Crate trained: yes, she is very good in crate overnight and when foster mom is gone
Leash trained: yes, she’s been walking with a Pointer and Setter who live in foster home and she wears an EZ Walk Harness and does well-she’s just a pup and not perfect but she’s getting there
Medical: UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and on HW preventative
Activity level: she is energetic but calm in house once she’s tired; she is a puppy and will pull rugs around, pick up shoes to chew on etc so she has to be checked on fairly regularly if you aren’t in same room with her. When she’s tired she’ll fall asleep and give you a break! She is a typical healthy pup. She will be happy in her crate with toys if you need to put her there for a few minutes for a time-out for you!!
Fence: preferred and easier to be able to let her go out to go to the bathroom in the yard; otherwise w/o fence she will need to go out on a leash and pups go out fairly often
Training/behavior: Samantha is a very happy pup with some initial shyness which has gone away in her week here. She is absolutely a sweetheart, beautiful inside and out.
Foster comments: please know I would adopt her in an instant but have several dogs of my own including Twist, a lookalike to Samantha I fostered thru HW treatment and adopted from A&B last Fall. I love her but can’t have another dog right now. I am already in love with her-anyone who meets her will be too. She is a wonderful smart pup who listens and learns quickly. She has a beautiful collar and matching leash and coordinating harness that will go with her to her new home.

Adoption fee: $395.00 - goes to $450.00 January 1, 2020

Location: Durham, NC

Volunteer transport can be arranged in the Continental US within a 1,000 mile distance between adopters & foster home. Typically, we are able to transport your adopted dog to within 2 hours of your home. *Dogs can be adopted outside the 1000 mile transport distance; however, adopters must be willing to either fly their adopted dog, drive to a location within the 1000 mile transport range, or make independent transport arrangements for their adopted dog. Transports to far West states, from Eastern states, may have additional restrictions.
