MISTY

MISTY ABIN#20- 026 – F, 2-3 Years

Foster dog name: Misty

Gender: Female

Age: 2- 3 Years

Size/Weight: 50 pounds

Color: White with red markings

Breed: Setter

Good with Children: Yes, Misty does great with everyone she meets. She loves playing with our nephews when they come to visit. She has also met the neighborhood kids and loves the attention they give her on our walks!

Good with Dogs: Yes, Misty loves our resident dog! She wants to be right by his side, and she loves to play with him in the yard. She has also met some of the neighborhood dogs and has had great interactions.

Good with Cats: Misty is a little too interested in our resident cats. While she has never shown any aggression towards them, we feel she would do best in a home without cats.

House trained: Yes. Misty has occasional accidents when we are gone for long periods of time, but she does really well when we are home.

Crate trained: We have never had to crate Misty. She does well in the house, and she is not destructive. She stays in a spare bedroom at night (to give our resident cats a break!), and she settles down nicely without a peep.

Leash trained: Yes--Misty does some pulling on our walks, but we feel with training she would easily learn to stop.

Behavior:  Misty is an absolute lovebug. She is extremely sweet and affectionate. Her tail never stops wagging, and she loves to give you gentle kisses on the chin.  She instantly loves anyone she meets, and she will be your biggest fan!

Activity Level:  Sweet Misty is a playful, spunky gal who keeps herself entertained with toys but can also settle down by your side at night. She enjoys a daily walk around the neighborhood or romp around her yard.

Fence:   Misty would love a fenced in yard to run and play. When Misty is done exploring the yard, we often catch her relaxing and enjoying the scenery.

Medical History: Misty is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, on HWP, and spayed.

Misty comes from Turkey where Leishmaniasis is endemic. She tested negative, but the parasite can remain dormant in the system.  Potential adopters must be willing to commit to annual testing for the next 7 years.  Your vet can draw the blood and send it to the lab.  The test typically costs $120-150 but varies from vet to vet.

Foster Comments:  Misty has been a complete joy in our household. She is a simple girl who only requires a box of toys, the occasional treat, and a comfy bed to lay on. She does excellent in the house, settles down nicely at night, and listens well when learning new things. She will be happy in any home that can provide her the same unconditional love that she will give you.

Adoption fee:  $350.00

Dog Location: Indianapolis, IN

Volunteer transport can be arranged in the Continental US within a 1,000-mile distance between adopters & foster home.  If interstate transport is provided for your adopted dog, there will be a pass-through charge of $50.00 for the required Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (“Health Certificate”).   Typically, we are able to transport your adopted dog to within 2 hours of your home. *Dogs can be adopted outside the 1000-mile transport distance; however, adopters must be willing to either fly their adopted dog, drive to a location within the 1000-mile transport range or make independent transport arrangements for their adopted dog. Transports to far West states, from Eastern states, may have additional restrictions.
