Good with Children: Don't know, no children in her foster home. She is energetic so I would recommend no children under the age of 10.

Good with Dogs: YES! Has been very friendly with all other dogs she has met on walks and at the dog park. Likes BOTH big and small dogs.

Good with Cats: No cats in her foster home, but she has a high prey drive for small critters, so I would say NO to cats in her new adoptive home. 

House trained: yes

Crate trained: Yes, she loves her crate,  but the door has to be open. She does not like being shut in  the crate. She goes in her crate often during the day to take naps when the house is quiet. We have let her have free roam of the house both at night and the few hrs a day we are gone, and she has not caused any problems!! Very good girl alone in the house!

Leash trained: Yes, but like any young Setter, she pulls. We have found that an Easy Walk Harness has worked well for her.

Behavior: Kaia is a very sweet loving girl who came from Istambul Turkey. She LOVES her people and wants to know she is loved in return. She enjoys cuddling on the couch in the evening when we watch TV. She will come to you for love and attention, but she is not a velcro needy dog. She can occupy herself with toys and also will find a comfy dog pillow or spot on the couch and will take a nap.  She must have furniture privileges at her new home. She loves playing and running with the other Setter in our home. She loves a good run at the dog park where she can socialize with other dogs. She is a very soft dog . She wants to please and does not need any harsh discipline. Riding in the car is a new experience for Kaia. She is very quiet when she is in the car. She curls up in a little ball and lays still. She has motion sickness and tends to drool when riding. This is getting better as time goes on, but it is something her new furever home should be aware of.

Activity Level: Kaia is an active young Setter girl. She loves to run, hunt & play. She loves and needs to run everyday. She is not the type of dog that will be satisfied with walks only. She needs to burn off her energy every day or she gets restless. 

Fence: REQUIRED!! A physical fence would be best, however, we believe an E-fence could be a possibility.  Kaia loves to run. She is so happy when she is at the dog park where she can run with the other dogs. We feel she must have a fenced in yard so she has the chance to exercise at her own home.  

Medical History: Kaia is a health happy little girl. She is spayed and UTD with all her shots. She recently saw our vet and he said she was in great shape, a good weight and very healthy!

Foster Comments: Kaia is a young energetic Setter girl who needs a home that has bird dog / Setter experience. We are looking for a home where her person/family is either retired or works from home. Kaia is NOT the type of dog that can be left for 8 or more hrs a day during the work week. She needs her family close.She also needs another high energy dog in the home to run & play with. She needs an active patient family/person and doggie buddy to guide her and help her be the great Setter girl we know she can be!

Volunteer transport can be arranged in the Continental US within a 1,000 mile distance between adopters & foster home. Typically, we are able to transport your adopted dog to within 2 hours of your home. *Dogs can be adopted outside the 1000 mile transport distance; however, adopters must be willing to either fly their adopted dog, drive to a location within the 1000 mile transport range, or make independent transport arrangements for their adopted dog.
