Foster Comments:  Jake came into foster when his owner in GA had to take his ailing parent in and Jake was banished to a dog run outside.  He’s been a really easy foster, getting along instantly with the 3 resident dogs, larger hounds.  He doesn’t really have a concept of personal space, just flops next to whatever dog is on whatever bed in the same room.  Ditto with food, given individual bowls, he doesn’t mind if someone joins him eating from his if they’ve finished their own.  Despite being recently neutered when he came into foster, he’s done fine with a male dog and 2 females.

Jake seems happy to be in the house.  He mostly hangs out on the best bed under the table while his foster mom works from home.  He does know enough to come into the kitchen if there are treats involved.   He’s crated at night as he’s an early riser.  The vet who examined him says that he may have been de-barked.  He doesn’t bark very loudly but is a talker & will give a good howl as greeting when the humans return from work.  He just plops in the car for rides.

Jake doesn’t really jump up in greeting, a nice bonus.  He’s good on leash and loves the sight of one.  He doesn’t jump the 5 foot fence in the yard, will play chase with his foster sister but isn’t obsessive about it.  He likes to take toys under his table & mouth them, but isn’t too much into tearing them up.

Always grinning and with his little tail thumping if you look in his direction, happy Jake would make an easy addition to many different situations.  He’d love a home of his own to settle in for this spring.
