Socialization/training: Cosmo loves people of all ages, plays well with a variety of dog sizes and breeds. He knows sit, is gentle with taking treats and walks on a leash. Rides well in the car and carries a toy around most of the time. 

Good with Children: Yes, loves kids

Good with Dogs: Yes

Good with Cats: Does not care about cats currently he sees on walks or at the vet

House trained: Yes, uses dog door independently

Crate trained: Yes, only crated when we are away from home for his safety

Leash trained:  Working on not pulling as frequently on daily 4-mile walks. 

Activity Level: Generally typical for a 1 yr old setter. He is submissive with other dogs in his foster home and friendly with dogs he meets in public. Cosmo likes to spend time outside during the day running in the yard and sunning. Learning to play tug and chase a ball.  

Fence: Physical fence is preferred  

Behavior: Cosmo is a sweet, loving and gentle dog who enjoys life. He is easy going, is always ready for a belly rub and is beginning to snuggle on furniture with his foster mom in the evenings. More often he lays on the floor near people while he chews a bone or naps. 

Medical History: Neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm negative. He tested mildly positive for Lyme Disease, was asymptomatic and was given a course of Doxycycline as a precaution.    

Foster Comments: Cosmo is a very good natured, sweet dog who will keep you entertained. He is a swiper of things! We have a daily treasure hunt for dog blankets, toys, shoes, bones, a dog bed and a pillow or two that migrated into the yard. Cosmo have never damaged anything nor chewed things not his, he just likes to grab and run!  We suspect he may not have had much to play with before coming to rescue as he would gather a pile of bones and toys as if they would disappear. Typically, he will carry a toy around and bring you a toy too.  He is affectionate and likes to lay his head on your lap for you to pet him.  Cosmo is good taking a bath, having his nails trimmed and teeth brushed. At night he sleeps on a dog bed in our room.
