Foster Comments - Cindy Lou Who is no Setter! She’s an honorary Setter. Her owner passed away and she and her sister were brought to the pound. Her sister was adopted and she was not.

The good people from Above and Beyond pulled her and I am now fostering her. She’s a big girl but a gentle giant. I believe she is a collie/shepherd mix as her rear end slopes like a shepherd but the vet says her joints are fine. She runs up and down the steps and jumps in the car with no problem.

When i first got her, I could tell she was confused and grieving. She’s a little nervous but has a very calm, laid back exterior.  She was having some accidents in the house so I brought her to the vet to have her checked for a UTI. It was clear. She was using the puppy pads I have for my other dog that has chronic UTI’s. That and her nerves could be the culprit! When I’m home all day, she has no problem. Long walks are solving all problems. She is a sensitive dog.

She craves love and belly rubs and just being petted but when told “That’s enough” she goes and lays down. She likes the couch but will lay on the floor. She prefers to sleep on her bed at the foot of my bed. She does really well on walks. Is curious but ignores other dogs.

She does whatever is asked of her but doesn’t do “Tricks”. She hasn’t learned sit or paw yet but is learning very quickly.  She knows “come”. I’m sure that will be easy for her. She does a cute submissive pawing the air thing.

She is not food aggressive. She won’t go near my other dog’s food. She won’t come in the kitchen at all unless invited. She is good with children but a lot of activity and noise make her nervous. She does not have one aggressive bone in her body.

She is fine with my dog and cat but doesn’t pay much attention to them so I think she would be fine as an only dog. She just craves love from her human.

Cindy is a nice, nice loving dog. Everybody at the vet loves her! She is still trying to figure out where her place is and what is wanted of her and I think THAT will make her a happy dog. She just seems worried right now and somewhat confused. Stability will make her a happy dog.

In a nutshell, Cindy Lou Who is a calm, loving sweet dog that wants nothing more than to please her human. She will be a happy calming addition to any family who will show her love and and comfort in a forever loving home. As you can see by her eyes in her photos, she is confused right now, but is very laid back, non demanding and low maintenance. She’s a good good dog and deserves a family for Christmas.
