CHEYENNE AB#19-170 – F – 2 1/2 Years

Cheyenne AB # 19-170

GENDER: Female

AGE: 2.5 years old

WEIGHT: 57 pounds

COLOR: Blue merle

BREED: She is a lovely mix of some type of Setter, possibly Australian Cattle Dog or English Shepherd

SOCIALIZATION/TRAINING:   Cheyenne is a beautiful dog with a wonderful personality.  She is the easiest foster we have had and is extremely easy going.  She can be reserved when meeting new people.  Once she has decided you are her friend then she shows her love and devotion with abandon.  She is very intelligent and intuitive and picked up the routine of our house quickly.  She has a very deep bark and will sound the alarm if a stranger is near our house or if she thinks something is amiss.

GOOD WITH CHILDREN:  Yes, with older children - she is easy going and loves to play

GOOD WITH DOGS:  Yes, she loves to run and play with our setter.  She is good with dogs in the park. She was on a leash and an unleashed dog charged her and she just stood there with her tail wagging!  While Cheyenne is always ready to play, she knows when our setter wants to be left alone and gives her a respectful distance.

GOOD WITH CATS:  Yes, our dog sitter has cats and she said that Cheyenne pays no attention to her cats.

LEASH TRAINED: Yes, she likes to stop and smell but is very easily redirected to keep moving.  She loves our walks in the woods and her tail just wags non-stop.

CRATE TRAINED: Yes, she did not like the crate in the beginning but quickly learned that was her space.  She sleeps in her crate in our bedroom at night with the door open and during the day with the door closed when I am at work.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: She likes to run and play but also will settle down with a bone or a toy.  She loves to walk and does really well on a leash.

FENCE: Yes, unless she was with a family who liked lots of walks.    She likes to run and play in our fenced in backyard.

BEHAVIOR: Cheyenne is a dear, sweet girl who adores her family both 2 and 4 legged.   She is happiest when everyone is all together in the same space.  She makes sure everyone comes inside/outside all together and will turn and make sure she is the last one in.  She can be head strong at times and does not like to be forced to do something she does not want to do.  If she knows what you want and you give her time, she will almost always do what you want her to do.  She does like to pick up our socks and slippers and carry them around in her mouth but she does not chew them so this could just be attention seeking behavior.

MEDICAL HISTORY: Spayed and UPD on shots.  She is on a monthly heartworm and flea and tick preventative.

FOSTER COMMENTS:  Cheyenne was adopted as a puppy and then surrendered by her owner - I cannot even begin to imagine why.  She is a beautiful dog with a wonderful personality and the easiest foster we have had.  Even after her short time with us, we can tell we are the center of her universe.  She is very attached to us and while we have not let her off leash, I think she would stay right with us.  She explores our backyard but always knows where we are.  If we get up to go in the house, she is right there with us.  She has never tried to get on our furniture or our bed but is just happy to be in the same room with her family.  If we were not near retirement we would adopt her ourselves!

Adoption Fee: $300.00

Foster Location:  Stone Mountain, GA
