ROSIE (NJ) AB#19- 081 – F, 1 Year
Foster dog name: Rosie
Breed: English Setter
Good with Children: Good most of the time, but may be a little aggressive with toys and food
Good with Dogs: Outside yes, inside has a tendency to be aggressive with food
Good with Cats: Unknown, have not seen around cats, but is very “birdie” loves to chase any thing that moves
House trained: Yes, will let us known when she has to go out, if not taken or let she may have an accident
Crate trained: Yes
Leash trained: Work in progress. Has been getting better on leash and loves to go on long walks everyday. When she spots a bird, squirrel, butterfly, deer or anything will chase after, usually stopping before getting to the end of the leash
Behavior: Rosie can be either independent and social depending on her mood. She will definitely let you know which mood she is in. Social/playful mood she’ll bring the toys to you and engage you to play. Independent mood she’ll grab a chew toy, go off and entertain herself, throwing it around and chasing or just laying down and chewing. Also is extremely adventurous always looking to explore new areas. At night she does love to get up on the couch or in the chair with you and cuddle, she will curl up and sleep through the night with you if you let her.
Activity Level: Extremely active and playful both outside and inside. Will run around non-stop outside, inside she can be just as active running around playing with her toys.
Fence: Working with training on electric fence now, would probably do best in a fenced in yard. Loves going to the dog park, will do her own thing at the park not really interested in playing with the other dogs there. Would rather chase whatever she can while outside. She loves going on long walks (will go on 3-4 mile walks several times throughout the day), but will need a place to run free.
Medical History: spayed this August, fully recovered. Vet checks have all been very good. Healthy active puppy.
Foster Comments: Rosie is a lovable active puppy. She is goofy, curious, cuddly, just an all round great companion. She will definitely make you laugh just being herself. Rosie took some time to adjust to life in a house. She did snap and become food/toy aggressive, but that behavior has subsided as she has become more use to living inside, understanding more that her food and toys are hers and will not be taken away. To make her feel a little more comfortable (since we have another dog) she is fed inside of her crate, so that she is not bothered and can eat her food without fear of losing it. Rosie will definitely be a great addition to the right family. She will certainly be missed by our entire family.
