Activity Level: Moderate. Enjoys wrestling with her foster brother Rosco, but doesn’t run much in the yard

Fence: I think Lyla would be fine with leash walks if she could go out a few times a day, although she would enjoy occasional romps off leash in a fenced in area.

Medical History: Spayed, up to date on vaccines, on Heartworm preventative & microchipped

Foster Comments: Lyla is a good little girl, fairly mellow for her age. When we picked her up on transport, she decided she didn’t want to ride in the back of the vehicle, so she climbed over the back seat to sit between my two grandsons. Soon she had her head lying on the lap of one of them! She has been very good with the kids, and gets along with all of the resident setters, including the grouchy old man.

She still needs to learn some boundaries with the other dogs, as she gets a little too much in their face sometimes, wanting to play, and we are working on that. She learned the doggie door in nothing flat. She knows to sit for her treats, and is learning “Quit” and “Off” fairly well.

She is basically house trained, with the use of the doggie door. We did have a couple of accidents until she learned about it.

She really enjoys her snuggle time on the couch with Mom and foster brother Rosco each evening before it is time for them to go to their crates. She sleeps in her crate, but would be much happier if she could stay on a dog bed in our bedroom….. but there are just too many dogs in this household for that. She enjoys squeaky toys and Nylabones or antlers to chew on. Her and her foster brother have ravaged a couple of potted plants on the deck, so we have tried to remove temptations until they are older and settle down a bit more.

I’m not sure how much setter blood might be in her veins, as she is short haired. But she is a sweet and lovable girl, and will make a great pet. I think she would be fine as an only dog, or would also do well with another playful dog in the household. She loves playing with her foster brother Rosco, and they enjoy each other’s company.
