Behavior: June mostly understands that dog toys are for chewing, but through no fault of her own, accidentally ripped up a shoe left on the living room floor near the dog toys. Her home will need to be puppy proofed and vigilant, but she is smart and will likely grow out of it. She likes nylabones and kong toys. June likes to get on the sofa or bed and get REALLY close for a nice scratch!

Activity Level: Her energy level is medium - she is content with a 1 mile walk and a few romps in the yard chasing a ball. Given exercise, she settles in and naps or finds a toy. She likes to play with other dogs.

Fence: June currently lives in a foster home with a fenced yard. She would be content as long as she gets regular exercise via multiple walks, play dates, dog park visits.

Medical History:

June came to rescue as a stray from a San Antonio shelter where she was spayed and given basic vet care. She is up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. When she arrived at her foster home June weighed 37 pounds and needs to gain a bit of weight. She gobbles up her food quickly. She is estimated to be one year old, but may be a little older.

Foster Comments: June is a sweet girl who likes to snuggle and play. She likes to play with other dogs, but can be food aggressive and has tried to resource guard her people. June has not counter surfed but would definitely do so if given an opportunity.

June is thriving in a home with a soft bed and people to pet her. She was not house trained when she came to us but is learning quickly. She is crate trained and goes in for a treat, which she takes very gently. When we are not at home June is crated and she sleeps in our bedroom on a dog bed at night, settling in nicely.

June is still learning commands, we are working on “sit” and “leave it.” She likes to walk and is good on the leash, She is curious about sounds, and will bark at garage doors, people, and other dogs. When meeting other dogs, she sniffs and is appropriate. Her transport team reported that June rides well in the car.
