Charley comes from Greece where Leishmaniasis is endemic and very common. He tested negative for the disease before coming to the US, but since Leishmania can have a long dormancy period, any applicants interested in adopting Charley (or any of our Greek Setters) need to commit to having him tested annually for Leishmaniasis for 7 years.

Foster Comments: I have loved having Charley. He is extremely smart so he learns quickly. Does well with “treat training”

He is wonderful with my grandson who is only 1 1/2 yrs old. Being such a little guy he is very careful around him and I always feel comfortable when Charley is near my grandson. Even when Charley is playing he gives a lot of room between my grandson and himself. Loves people. There is no such thing as a stranger to him.

He should not be with senior dogs because of his drive to play. The reason why I am not adopting Charley is because of my senior dogs which he is too rough with and my seniors come first.. Younger dogs he is just fine with as long as they like to play. He plays very well with a 4 yr old dog.
He loves to be brushed….he has a beautiful coat. Handsome boy.
