BRADY AB#16-106

Short video #1    Short video #2  Short video #3

Gender: Male
Age: 9 years
Size/Weight: 55 lbs
Color: Orange Belton
Breed: English Setter

Socialization/training: Brady is a love, and is good with kids. He could use more obedience training. He loves to snuggle!

Good with Children: Has been very patient with our 5-year-old granddaughter.

Good with Dogs: He loves to play with our female dog. Brady is having some arguments with two of our male dogs. He is trying to move up the pecking order in the pack, which the other dogs don’t appreciate. He could be an only dog, but he would also do well with one other dog, preferably female or submissive, in the home.

Good with Cats: No. He should not live in a home with inside cats!

House trained: Yes

Crate trained: Unknown.

Leash trained: He should use a Gentle Leader harness. He’s very big and strong. He is very active on the leash and can be challenging to walk without more training.

Activity Level: Like most setters, Brady is playful outside and laid back inside. He loves a comfy couch, lying in the sun, and sitting by the wood stove! He enjoys being outside in the snow. He will stop almost any activity to have his ears scratched! He enjoys chasing tennis balls, but doesn’t always bring them back.

Fence: We have an Invisible Fence. He was already familiar with the IF, and learned it immediately. For safety, a sturdy fence or Invisible Fence is needed. He could be easily trained to a fenceless electronic collar system.

Behavior: Brady has spent most of his life in a family setting. He was turned over to A & B because his family had an infant who was allergic to him. He bonds to his people quickly, and likes to be with them. He is very calm inside, and is generally active outside. He is very interested in squirrels.

Medical History: Neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, on Flea & Tick preventative and heartworm preventative. WhenBrady gets stressed, he chews on himself. This is easily controlled with medication, which can be phased out between stressful events (such as moves to a new home.)

Foster Comments: Brady is a very sweet boy who needs a permanent home to enjoy for the rest of his life. He acts younger than 9 years old, and has a lot of life left in him! He is very loving and seeks attention from his people. Brady is very enthusiastic about riding in the car, but is not a good passenger unless he is harnessed in. He can be quite talkative, making sounds inside, outside and when in the car. He has a rather high bark for a dog his size. He can get triggered when my other dogs are barking. We have recently tried a citronella collar with him with great success.
