Good with dogs: Yes. Rather indifferent but just started initiating play.
Good with cats: Yes. Barked at my cat when she first arrived. Never chased but now allows the cat to rub against her. Never aggressive.
House trained: Yes.Her former owners said she was no longer house trained but in the month i have had her, she has never had an accident in the house. She sleeps through the night and then some! She barks if she has to go out.
Behavior: Ginger is one of the sweetest dogs i have ever met. All she asks for is love. She's not a velcro dog but sometimes if she can't find you, she will call for you.
Crate: Does not need a crate
Activity level: Low
Fence: Does not need a fence. Enjoys laying on the porch in the sun.
Leash: Walks well on a leash.
Medical History: Arthritis. Is on Dasuquin for joint health and Carprofen as needed for joint pain. Skin allergies. I think she licks more when she is anxious but is on Apoquel for now. A little overweight but has lost 2 lbs. in 2 weeks i think due to walks.
Comments: Ginger was surrendered by an older lady who could no longer care for her.She did not get out of the house and ate people food. When she first arrived at my house, it was hard for her to get up two steps. After having her for one month, she is a new, happy dog! She sleeps in my bedroom on her bed on the second floor. She goes up and down a flight of stairs but i hold her collar just in case. In her mind, she can do anything!
With good nutrition, anti-inflammatoriies, exercise and a little attention she is a joy!
She loves her walks, especially on trails or around wooded areas. She actually runs now.She has been walking about a half a mile a day. Sometimes twice a day. She loves water but it's still too cold for her to swim. She would if I let her.
Loves car rides.
She just started playing with toys and anitiating play with my small dog.I think the more stimulation she has the younger she gets!
She will bark at 5:00 for her dinner.
Ginger is just the sweetest ol' girl i have ever met. If she does anything wrong, it is my fault. She will get in the trash but when she does, it's my fault for not taking it out. She is now thriving and enjoying her life! I would keep her in a second but i live a very active lifestyle outdoors and would feel bad leaving her home.
All she needs is love and companionship to thrive in her senior years. She is laid back in the house and has a very calming presence.

update: This dog just gets cuter and cuter! She fell asleep sucking on her stuffed animal. She puts them all in a pile now and plays tug of war with my little dog. Gosh!
