AB#19-220 Mimosa

Gender: Female

Age:  6 months

Color: White with light orange spots

Size: 25 lbs

Breed: English Setter mix

Foster Comments:  Mimosa arrived from Greece in November.     She is a little shy at first then warms up quickly.    Mimosa is a live wire.    She runs, hops, and jumps, always high speed.  Mimosa will bark when visitors arrive then settles down in about 5 minutes.   She loves to run with the resident dogs.   Mimosa is a Master Gardener.

Good with Children:  Probably.   We don’t have young children in the family.

Good with Dogs:  Yes!

Good with Cats: Unsure.

House-trained:  Yes!  Mimosa does not have accidents in the crate overnight or during the day while foster family is at work for 8 hours.

Crate-trained: Yes.  Mimosa has to be helped into the crate at bedtime and when leaving for work.    She does not bark and settles down.    Sometimes she will go in the crate to take a nap on her own.   Couch or chair is her favorite napping spot.

Leash-Trained:  Mimosa hasn’t had much practice walking on lead.

Activity Level: High.   Mimosa is a busy girl and always on the move at a high speed.   When tired, she hops on the couch or chair and sleeps.  When outside, Mimosa is checking the ground for scents, digging in the garden or running and playing with her foster siblings.

Fence: A physical fence would be best for Mimosa.   If she gets scared, she needs to be in a secure location.   Mimosa does not climb the 4 foot fence.

Medical History: Mimosa is fully vetted and microchipped.  She needs to be spayed and is in great health!  Mimosa is from Greece where Leishmaniasis is endemic. She has tested negative, but the parasite can remain dormant in the system. Potential adopters must be willing to commit to annual testing for the next 7 years. Your vet can draw the blood and send it to the lab. The test typically costs $120-150 but varies from vet to vet.

Adoption fee: $395

Foster Location: Mechanicsburg, PA

Volunteer transport can be arranged in the Continental US within a 1,000 mile distance between adopters & foster home. Typically, we are able to transport your adopted dog to within 2 hours of your home. *Dogs can be adopted outside the 1000 mile transport distance; however, adopters must be willing to either fly their adopted dog, drive to a location within the 1000 mile transport range, or make independent transport arrangements for their adopted dog. Transports to far West states, from Eastern states, may have additional restrictions.
