Hannah

Introducing Princess Hannah Roo, the sweetest dog
you will ever meet, now available for adoption to a
very special person/family.  Hannah has won hearts
from the time she was turned in to a kill shelter by
her previous owners at the age of 9 ½ years young.
Hannah was severely underweight when she was
turned in but to know Hannah is to love her so
rescue was contacted to save her and A&B was there
for her.  Hannah is so gentle, happy and full of spirit
that she makes you smile and feel good just being
with her.  She went first to a temp foster, next to a
Vet foster and now she is with her final foster.  We all
fell for Hannah and thanks to the Vet foster Hannah
is bouncing back physically with her trademark
enthusiasm.  Her issues turned out to not to be as
serious as feared, a urinary tract infection and teeth
in bad need of cleaning.  She is now fully vetted and
putting on weight.

Hannah acquired the nickname Roo because she is
such a happy girl that she jumps and hops around
like a kangaroo.  She quickly gained a reputation as a
Princess because of her eating habits and lifestyle
preferences.  She is used to eating human food and
being hand fed from her previous life.  We have
found a dog food that she likes and will eat
consistently, but her new family will need to cater to
her eating habits, possibly forever.  She is also a
Princess because she prefers to lounge on the couch
and when sent out to go to the bathroom she
bounces out, does her business and is usually ready
to come right back in.  She doesn’t really like to get
her feet wet so if it is raining, she’ll keep one foot on
the patio and the other in the yard to pee, because
she quickly learned that foster mom expects her to
pee in the yard, even when it’s wet outside.

Roo likes to play with tennis balls and wants the
other dogs in the home to run and play with her.

She was treated rough by her previous owners and if
you move to pet her quickly she may pull back but I
keep assuring her that no one will ever hurt her
again.  Just be patient and understanding, that is all
she asks.

She is crate trained, housetrained and does great
with cats, other dogs and kids (see her video and be
sure to notice how fast her tail is wagging when she
met a family with kids on a beach walk).

Hannah is on some inexpensive supplements to keep
her comfortable and healthy and you’ll need to
continue those.  At this time she is going to do best
with a retired or work/stay at home person.  She
loves going on walks and could easily walk several
miles a day with her person.  And please make sure
that there is room on the couch for her to snuggle
up with (or without) you.  Hannah is such an easy
foster dog and a joy to have in the home.  We are
really going to miss her, but as long as you are willing
to give our little Princess the TLC she deserves we
know that she is ready to move from rescue to her
furever home.
