Jake is really a people dog, but is slowly integrating himself into the pack of dogs here. He is more interested in humans but is actually initiating play with the other dogs during playtime. He knows sit and does indeed like to sit up on his hind legs and tuck his front paws into his chest to get up closer to his human companions.
He needs work on his recall but with a devoted owner he will really thrive and become a great companion. He wants to be where his master is but can be a bit birdy when out and about so some form of constant control over him is imperative. He is doing well with leash walking and will be the perfect walking or jogging companion with consistency. Jake is a dog with endless potential to be a wonderful member of a household that will continue his training.
He has been crated here when he's not supervised as he is not completely solid on not marking in the house. He does respond well to correction but as a precaution in the beginning, a home that is not opposed to crating is advisable. He is a polite eater and hasn't shown any aggression toward anyone, including our toddler.
Jake really is a wonderful boy. (Not to mention he has a very cool coif that stands up like a crown on his head when it's windy out.) He'd love to have all of the attention to himself, but if introduced properly and handled properly, a new home with another dog would not be out of the question. He's really proven himself here as an outstanding dog that found himself with a previous owner that should have looked to his dog more for proper advice on etiquette.
