Duchess has felt the brunt of difficult economic times. Her owners handed her over to the Animal Protection Society of Caswell County because they could no longer afford to take care of her. Then, she was on the brink of adoption when she was found to have heartworm. Duchess is a sweetheart and a favorite of the staff. A $100.00 donation to help pay for her HW treatment has been offered by one of the staff members. If you would like to donate money to help Duchess, the link to her shelter’s website is: http: //www.apscaswell.com/index.html
Duchess is thought to be a cross of a Labrador Retriever and an English Setter. She is approximately 2 or 3 years old. Her large dark eyes are beautiful and expressive. Duchess loves attention although she can be shy. A patient and loving owner willing to help her transition to a new home would be perfect for her. Shelter life has made her a bit hyper.
Duchess loves people and other dogs, but will pass on the furry felines. During her “cat test” she eyed the contender like a leg of lamb. So, a home without cats is best for this girl.
Above and Beyond English Setter Rescue has helped find homes for other dogs from this rural shelter and they (Zane, Brice, Gage) have come to be wonderful pets and are much loved. Hopefully Duchess will get the same chance to be cared for and cherished. Please fill in the application with Above and Beyond English Setter Rescue if you think Duchess could be your next companion.
