Dorian

“Dorrie” (Dorian) is an approximately two year old
spayed female.  Dorrie is about 40 pounds, up to
date on shots, heartworm negative and on
heartworm preventative.

She was a stray and was so fearful that she had to be
trapped to be caught. It was evident she’d had a
litter not too long before she was trapped.  It was
reported that she had some puppies with her, but
they were never found. She has very little feathering,
but I am hoping they will come out with regular
meals and fish oil supplements. She doesn’t appear
to be very birdy.

Dorrie is working on being potty trained. She’s a very
sweet natured girl, doesn't have a mean bone in her
body and is a “talker”.  She makes very cute little
noises when she talks to you. She rides OK in the car,
but is nervous about it and drools quite a bit. Dorrie
loves to be with her people and being cuddled. She is
still quite timid in nature, crouching down and
flinching at hand movements. She is improving slowly
and gaining confidence. She has her favorite “quiet”
places in my house, including going into a crate on
her own to sleep or to feel safe. I simply leave the
door open and she goes in when when feels like it.
Dorrie is not at all destructive and doesn't have any
real bad habits. She will jump up on you very lightly,
almost like a hug, to be close to you and get some
love.

Dorrie gets along with all of my dogs, male and
female. I am not sure how she would be with cats.
She will need a home where she will continue to gain
in confidence and skills. She’s just a very sweet girl
and will make a wonderful addition to someone’s
home.
