This guy is Cyrus. Cyrus is a 5 year old English
Setter. Cyrus was purchased as a puppy from a
breeder in California. His owners decided recently
that he was not working out in their household with
their small children so Cyrus came to English Setter
rescue.
He is adorable. Cyrus has spent a good portion of
his life in a bark collar – needlessly. He was even
wearing it when his owner brought him to his foster
mom. Cyrus doesn’t bark when riding, so we’re not
sure why he was wearing it – maybe they were just
used to leaving it on at all times? The poor little guy
– they can shock even when the dog isn’t barking.
He does not wear a bark collar at his foster home
and has not been an excessive barker.
Cyrus is such a doll. He isn’t a large setter, and has
such a sweet little face that he looks younger than
he is. He loves to put his front paws on his foster
mom’s lap when she’s sitting and just point his face
towards the window and watch what’s going on
outside. If you ignore him, pretty soon he’s hiking
up a back leg, then another back leg and than –
wallah! He’s in your lap. He looks so proud of himself
when he does that – like he doesn’t think you
noticed. You do – he’s a small setter, but not that
small. He is just adorable. Cyrus is crate and house
trained, neutered and up to date on his
vaccinations. He is fine with other dogs and does
need a tall fence.

Cyrus will not be adopted to a home with small
children – the preferred age is 12 years and up. If

Upon approval and home visit, adopters will be
asked to sign a contract and pay an adoption fee
(which covers the cost of spay/neuter, vaccinations
and other necessities).
