Hi, I'm Chase... wag, wag wag. It's so nice to
introduce myself... wag, wag, wag. Wish I could give
you a hug right now... wag, wag, wag! Oooh, foster
mom has a treat... excuse me one moment...wag,
wag, wag! (In case you can't tell yet, Chase
loooooves, life, loves people and loves to wag his tail!)
Mmmmmm... that treat was great, now where was I?
Oh yes, I was telling you a bit about myself. Well, I
am convinced I am a lap dog... granted a 55 pound
lap dog, but I figure if I can get myself on your lap, I
should be allowed to enjoy it! And, if you'd like I also
give great hugs. Ooh, ooh, ooh... I also know how to
say, "I love you," with a full body wiggle and a big ole
setter smile.
I'm kind of a laid back sort of fellow, happy to go with
the flow. I enjoy relaxing with my foster family and
my setter sister. It's fun to play with her as well. And
I really have a blast with stuffed toys. I can even toss
them to myself. Now, if they have a squeaker inside...
I consider it my mission to do battle with the toy until
I've successfully removed the squeaker! Once I've
defeated the squeaker I like to carry the "silent" toy
around proudly. My foster mom always makes sure
to take the squeaker part away for my safety. I enjoy
being outside and exploring the yard, and while I
check out the wildlife, I'm not what people would call
"really birdy." I am trying to figure out what to do
about these big, fast things with four wheels that my
foster mom calls cars. When we are out walking and
one goes zooming by, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to
try and follow it or just let it pass. Where are they
going in such a hurry? I wonder?
My foster mom says I am such a sweet and loving boy
that she'd love to keep me..... except.... well.... she has
these little furry cats at her house and I just can't
resist following them all over the place and
investigating everything they do. (Just between you
and me, they spend an awful lot of time grooming
themselves... what's up with that?) I haven't hurt
any of the cats, I just can't seem to relax around
them. So she figures I'd be much happier and more
relaxed in a home without cats.
So, if you are a family looking for a big ole, orange
belton lovebug; a family that wants someone to share
quality time on a sofa snuggling or out in the
backyard playing... please, give me a call. Or give my
foster mom a call, since I can't exactly answer the
phone!
A word or two from Chase's foster mom:
There are so many things to love about Chase. He
really seems to love life and thoroughly enjoys
spending time with people and other dogs. He is
approximately 5 years old and will be a bigger setter,
around the mid-60's when he's put on the weight and
he has a nice, "benchy" head with a silky soft, easy
care coat. Chase entertains us all the time. If he feels
like we're not paying close attention, he'll grab a
newspaper for magazine and shake it as if to say,
"Hello, cute dog needing some love over here." He's
crate trained and happy to spend time in his crate and
then when you come home, he shows his love and
happiness with a full body wiggle. He's almost fully
house-trained and I think once he's settled into a
home of his own, with bathroom routines, he'll do
well. It would probably be best for him to have a 6
foot fence because he is athletic and while he's been
OK supervised with our 4 foot fence, I do believe he
could clear if something on the other side really
caught his attention. Chase always seems to have a
"smile" for us and he often reminds us of the Disney
character, Goofy because he is so sweet natured. He
has so much love to give, Chase would be wonderful
in a home where he gets to spend a lot of time with
his people.
